Why Choose these youth programs for young Sikhs?
Paid Internship Opportunities for Sikh Youth
This summer, Sikh youth have the chance to gain meaningful work experience through paid internship placements within Gurdwara summer programs and youth services. These roles offer a unique blend of professional development and community service, allowing participants to build practical skills, grow their understanding of Sikh values, and contribute to initiatives that benefit the wider Sangat. Interns are compensated for their time and commitment, making this an ideal opportunity for students seeking both financial support and impactful engagement.
Volunteer Placements: Serve with Purpose
For those looking to serve their community in a different capacity, volunteer placements are available throughout the summer at local Gurdwaras. These unpaid roles involve helping with youth programming, educational workshops, event organization, and more. Volunteers play a vital role in creating inclusive, engaging environments where Sikh values are practiced and shared. Though unpaid, these experiences offer personal fulfillment, mentorship opportunities, and strong references for future academic or job applications.
A Summer of Learning, Seva, and Sikh Identity
Whether paid or unpaid, these summer opportunities are designed to empower Sikh youth by connecting them to their heritage through action. Participants will learn valuable life and leadership skills, deepen their understanding of Sikh history and values, and engage directly in Seva (selfless service). These programs not only prepare young Sikhs for future success but also strengthen their connection to the community and faith. By participating, youth gain confidence, a sense of purpose, and the tools to become thoughtful, service-minded leaders.
